The first Sydney Indie Film Festival (SIFF) will feature some of the best of independent cinema from around the world as it aims to unite, inspire and entertain.
The fest will run October 17-25 at The Bayview Cinema in the Bayview Hotel in Gladesville, just 15 minutes from the CBD.
Festival director Shailla Quadra, an independent filmmaker and actor, said: "The Festival program will screen all genres of films – action, adventure, comedy, family movies, chick flicks, science fiction, thrillers."
Submissions were accepted exclusively via FilmFreeway and finalists are selected by a panel of judges from the local film industry.

The finalis will be competing for various awards in several categories covering features and short films, documentaries and animation.
