English-born Australian actor Nic Bishop has joined the cast of Covert Affairs, the US spy drama series that airs on Foxtel’s Universal Channel.
Bishop plays Ryan McQuaid, a former Navy SEAL-turned-private contractor billionaire who forma an uneasy alliance with CIA agent Annie Walker (Piper Perabo). The show is in its fifth season on the USA Network. It's filmed in Colombia and Toronto and will be in production until October.
The LA-based Bishop starred in the WB/Fox series Past Life which he won after his first US audition, secured through Nikki Barrett Casting.
He went on to star in ABC's medical drama Body of Proof and has appeared in CSI, NCIS: LA, Hot in Cleveland, Necessary Roughness, Castle and The Glades.
Repped in Australia by Linsten Morris Management, he came back to play Paul Dale in Screentime’s Fat Tony & Co.
Bishop has completed two US indie films, director Anthony LeFresne’s The Mentor, in which he plays a guy whose eight-year-old daughter dies in a car accident; and Shelli Ainsworth’s Stay Then Go, a drama about a woman’s relationship with her autistic son.
