Love Child has become the Nine Network’s highest-rated time-shifted programme since OzTAM began collecting seven-days viewing data in 2010.
Consolidated figures released yesterday show the March 17 episode of the Playmaker Media production created by writer/producer Sarah Lambert was watched by an additional 295,366 viewers in the five mainland capitals in the seven days following after its premiere, setting a new record for an Australian drama series.
Including the time-shifted figures, last week’s episode drew a five-city audience of 1.358 million, 27.8% up on the overnight number.
A second series of Love Child, set in 1970, will go into production later this year and will screen on the Nine in 2015.
Nine's previous highest-rating time-shifted local drama was Howzat! Kerry Packer's War, which had 286,000 viewers in the week following the premiere in 2012.
Part 2 of Shine Australia/Seven's INXS: Never Tear Us Apart ranks as the No. 1 time-shifted local miniseries with 315,800 viewers.
