The $2.1 million supernatural thriller Road Train is set to begin shooting in South Australia on May 11 after securing final funding.
A small team including producer Michael Robertson, director Dean Francis and director of photography Carl Robertson are travelling to Adelaide this week to prepare for the four-to-five week shoot.
The film tells the tale of a group of four teenagers on a camping holiday in outback Australia who are the victims of road rage and end up pursued by a driverless road train.
“One by one they meet a grisly end courtesy of the vehicle,” Michael Robertson, who also produced crocodile horror film Black Water, said.
Final casting is underway to fill the five speaking roles with the majority of cast and crew set to be filled by South Australians.
The film has been backed by the SA Film Corporation, Screen Australia and private investor CPF.
