Press release from LBF
LBF the debut feature film from Writer/Director Alex Munt is set to World Premiere at the South by Southwest Film Festival (SXSW) in Austin, Texas. LBF will play as a ‘Spotlight Premiere’ with March screening dates to be announced.
LBF is a micro-budget digital feature based on the novel LBF by young Perth author Cry Bloxsome (first published as ‘Living Between F**ks’ in 2006). The film follows the story of ‘Goodchild’, a writer, who lands back home direct from Paris to attend his ex-girlfriend’s funeral, ‘The Dead Girl’. At an afternoon motel party he encounters ‘The Beautiful Financial Backer’ who works in advertising. At the wake she commissions him to write ‘The Love Enterprise’.
The past and present collide for Goodchild as he slides through a hot Australian summer. Haunted by the twin ghosts of love and death, he is pushed to his very limits. LBF is a modern story of love, loss and desperation.
LBF is a pop-flavoured indie film. It assembles a dynamic cast of next-generation Australian actors with Toby Schmitz, in the lead role, together with Bianca Chiminello, Gracie Otto, Septimus Caton and April Rose Pengilly. LBF showcases some of the best recent Australian independent music featuring live-band performances from: Teenagers in Tokyo, Tennis, Fergus Brown and Kids at Risk. LBF includes songs from The Model School, Grand Salvo, Boy & Bear, SIR and Operator Please on its soundtrack.
