INPUT SYDNEY adds bonus industry day

Press release from TM Publicity

INPUT Sydney
May 7 – 11, Hoyts Cinemas, The Entertainment Quarter, next to Fox Studios

Get ahead of the pack with the INPUT Sydney Bonus Industry Day – a new addition in 2012 to extend the INPUT experience. INPUT is one of the world’s leading television industry events and will be held in Australia for the very first time in Sydney from May 7 – 11.

The Bonus Industry Day will offer two special sessions on Monday May 7 to bring delegates face to face with decision makers from around the globe who will share the latest market intelligence.

The sessions are:

Who's Who – INPUT participants from all around the world have an opportunity to say who they are and what they or their broadcasters are looking for. Speakers will not be limited to commissioning editors but will include funding bodies, production companies and program makers.

Working with the Region – We’re headlong into the Asian century and all of us in the industry need to build more strongly on our relationships with key players in the Asia Pacific region. In this special session, INPUT participants attending from China, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, The Philippines, Singapore, New Zealand and South Korea will talk about the sorts of programs they make and why. Included in this session will be a case study presented by ABC3.

INPUT is based on the principal of television in the public interest – a meeting place where broadcasters, commissioners, programmers, producers and directors from 50 countries and five continents come together to share programs, ideas and aspirations.
The Conference runs in a different country each year, screening and debating around 70 hours of international programming. It is a unique ‘whole of television’ event, encompassing Drama, Documentary and Factual, TV Specific programming and Transmedia. Discussions follow all screenings in which delegates talk directly with the commissioner, producer or director of the program about the craft, the politics, and the broadcast issues. The discussions are frank, open, often challenging, and very refreshing.
Many deals are done on the sidelines of the Conference, but above all INPUT is a market for ideas, and a base for building the international networks that we all rely on more and more in our increasingly globalised and multi screen world.
