Southern Cross Austereo places order for Miranda with Magna

Press release from Well Above

Southern Cross Austereo have placed an order with Magna Systems and Engineering for three Miranda Vertigo XG graphics engines and two XMS servers.

Southern Cross Austereo is the creator of more hours of live content than any other broadcast media in Australia and can connect with 95% of Australians each week via their regional free-to-air TV networks, national radio networks, online, mobile and one off events.

Magna Systems and Engineering’s Group Sales Manager Stephen Clemesha said, “Southern Cross Austereo wanted a new look for their graphics. With over 30 news breaks per day they needed a system that would be powerful, flexible and easy to use. After a comprehensive assessment and evaluation process they chose Miranda’s Vertigo because of its fresh look and efficient workflow.”

The Vertigo XG graphics processor is ideal for the most advanced, data-driven channel branding and promo graphics, including in-show promos and programme junction promos. As a single/dual channel graphics processor it has the processing performance for dynamic and pre-rendered graphics and provides multi-level character generation, animation/still and clip playout, as well as dual DVEs and audio mixing.

The Miranda Vertigo XG graphics engines and XMS servers will be delivered, installed and commissioned at Southern Cross Austereo in the third quarter of 2012.
