Videocraft to display Dying Breed system

Videocraft, the leading broadcast equipment sales and rental company, has announced that it will be demonstrating the Sony 4:4:4 1080, 60P HDCAM SR production system, and the only Sony PDW700 XDCAM HD 422 camera at the upcoming ACS 50th anniversary conference from 28 May to 1 June 2008 in Sydney.

Videocraft managing director Jeanette Taylor said, “The HDCAM SR production system is a true first and produces quite amazing results. The portable acquisition system comprises Sony’s HDC1500 HD camera and SRW1/ SRPC1 HDCAM SR portable recorder, offering up to 1080 60P 4:4:4 RGB recording in a compact portable package. We are delighted to be able to demonstrate the system at the prestigious ACS50 anniversary conference.”

The HDCAM SR production system has particular significance in the Australian feature film industry as it was recently used by DOP Geoffrey Hall ACS on the movie Dying Breed which recently premiered at the Tribeca film festival in New York.

At ACS50 Videocraft will also be demonstrating the Sony HDC1500 studio camera with T-Block adapter for small lightweight applications such as aerial mounts and motion control rigs. HDCAM SR is fast being adopted as the new standard in HD mastering and delivery.

SR offers the highest quality tape based HD format available with simple and flexible post production workflows on most editing platforms. A full range of HD production accessories will also be available at the show including HD cine style lenses and monitoring.

Alongside the HDCAM SR production system, Videocraft will be the only company to be demonstrating the new Sony HDW700 XDCAM HD 422 camera. Of great interest to freelance camera operators, networks and production companies, the camera is widely expected to replace Digital BETACAM in Australia. The camera will also be shown with the new low cost Fujinon ZA series HD lenses.

Taylor
continued, “Videocraft will have the earliest availability of both PDW700 and PDWHD1500 for sale and rental in Australia. Initial orders are being taken and, as they are both on a strict first come first served basis, we are inviting customers to place their orders on our booth at ACS50 to ensure prompt delivery.”

Staff on the Videocraft booth will also be demonstrating the Sony PMWEX1 XDCAM EX camera recording to SxS flash media giving faster than real time workflows and seamless integration with Final Cut Pro and Avid applications.

Completing the camera line-up at the show is the Sony HDWF900R HDCAM CINEALTA camcorder, the recognised industry standard for multi-format HD production. This widely accepted tape based format and proven post production workflow was also used on Dying Breed, and is recognised for its portability, versatility and high picture quality.

In their capacity as exclusive Australian Distributor, Videocraft will also be showing the versatile and lightweight Losmandy Spider dolly system running on flexible track. The system allows smooth dolly moves around tight corners and circular dolly moves, in a lightweight, portable package.
