WA post teams pitch for $25 million action feature

The Western Australian post sector has come together to pitch for a $25 million international period action feature.

The PostWest initiative saw key players in WA post present a pitch to the writer and producer of the feature at The Backlot in Perth on December 2.

Ahead of the pitch, a volunteer steering committee was formed to help meet the needs of the producer’s project brief.

The committee created a pitch reel highlighting the best offerings of the Western Australian Post sector, accompanied by a brochure of key senior artists in specific areas.

Further developments are being made to the reel and the brochure, which will be available for viewing in 2016.

ScreenWest’s Pitching Initiative follows on from Ausfilm’s recent post, vfx, sound and music campaign, which uses data from their post and sound members to assess average post-production spend across feature film and TV series within Australia.

Ausfilm have published three case studies highligting the savings international productions can make using the 30 per cent PDV Offset and a low Australian dollar.
