AICE Israeli Film Festival announces guests and events

The AICE Israeli Film Festival has confirmed a number of special events and guests as further highlights of what promises to be a memorable smorgasbord of documentaries, feature films and shorts from August 17 – 30 at Palace Cinemas in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra and Perth.

The Festival also announced a change in cinemas for Sydney and Perth. In Sydney, the Festival will take place at Palace Verona and in Perth, Cinema Paradiso will be AICE Israeli Film Festival headquarters.

On opening night, each city will host pre-screening refreshments and live entertainment before the premiere of the highly acclaimed MATT CASPI – CONFESSIONS.

International guests will present Q&A sessions in Sydney and Melbourne – Barak Heymann (director of ALIZA and ALMOST FRIENDS) and human rights lawyer Asaf Weitzen (head of legal department of Hotline for Refugees and Migrants – the Israel human rights NGO at the centre of the film HOTLINE) and a special appearance by Academy Award® winning producer Howard Rosenman. In Melbourne, the screening of WANDERING MUSE will be preceded by a live music performance from Klezmeritis, plus authors Leah Kaminsky and Lee Kofman will discuss “Female writing – Is there such a Beast?” in a pre-screening conversation session at the screening of Clockwork Doll – Dahlia Ravikovitch, followed by a Q&A.
