Press release from Miranda Brown Publicity
ABC TV Arts & Entertainment and the Adelaide Film Festival (AFF) have released guidelines for the Hive Production Fund. The Fund will support the production of selected arts-based films and documentaries. ABC TV and the AFF will each contribute $200,000 to the Fund.
Inspired out of The Hive, a cross-artform development lab run earlier this year at AFF, this $400,000 funding initiative is designed to assist one-off, ambitious and audacious arts films. The resulting works will have world premieres at the 2013 AFF and screen on ABC TV.
The joint fund seeks to encourage artists and arts filmmakers to explore the screen as a medium for creative expression. It reflects an ongoing partnership between ABC TV and the AFF Investment Fund that has seen co-investment in many projects, including the opening night premiere at the 2011 AFF – Mrs Carey's Concert.
Amanda Duthie, Head of ABC TV Arts & Entertainment says, “The Hive Production Fund is an opportunity to ignite innovative collaborations so exciting arts projects can find their way to the big and small screen.”
Katrina Sedgwick, Director of the Adelaide Film Festival says, “We’re thrilled that this Fund will offer filmmakers a chance to experiment with and expand their work practice, and for artists to apply their creative processes to another art form. Having ABC TV involved really helps to make the Fund a significant new stimulus for the sector.”
Guidelines and application forms can be found online from today at www.adelaidefilmfestival.org.
Applications close at 5pm on Friday 29 July, 2011.
