The Singapore feature film production ‘Dance Of The Dragon’ has swept all major awards at The Inaugural West Hollywood International Film Festival ’08, which took place in Los Angeles, from 29th July – 1st August 2008.
Australian Cinematographer John Radel who also directed the film received both the Best Cinematography and Best Director award alongside fellow Australian film makers David Ingram who received the award for Best Production Design and Australian Editor David Cole taking the Best Editing Award.
The film competed against 141 selected international entries at the festival and won a record 10 awards in all major categories, including the Best Festival Movie Award.
Radel comments "Receiving recognition in Hollywood is a very rewarding experience, this festival had a great mix of independent feature films from all around the globe, I met some great film makers here and hope to collaborate with them in the future, I am very proud of what we have achieved here."
Since the awards night both cinematographer John Radel and Production Designer David Ingram have been snapped up by The Crayton Smith Talent Agency, one of the most respected agents in Hollywood, responsible for the careers of Vilmos Zsigmond, Laszlo Kovacs, John Alonzo, Billy Williams, Nestor Almendros, Dean Semler, John Seale, and numerous others.
‘Dance Of The Dragon’ will also screen in competition at the 12th Annual Rhode Island International Film Festival, The 2008 Rome International Film Festival , The 14th Annual Temecula Valley International Film Festival, USA , The 9th Annual San Diego Asian Film Festival, USA and the Hawaiian International Film Fest, with more to be announced over the coming months.
‘Dance Of The Dragon’ – starring Korean heartthrob Jang Hyuk, Singapore’s Fann Wong and Hollywood’s Jason Scott Lee – is an inspiring love story set amidst other tender and multi-dimensional relationships.
