New Town Films and Doll are delighted to announce that the filming of their Australian feature, Beautiful Kate, will commence shooting in the Flinders Ranges this Monday 16 June.
The feature film, a directorial debut for Rachel Ward (The Big House, Martha’s New Coat), is a powerful mystery based on a novel by American writer Newton Thornburg. Adapted to the screen by Rachel Ward, Beautiful Kate stars Ben Mendelsohn (Mullet, Cosi), Rachel Griffiths (Muriel’s Wedding, television’s Six Feet Under and Brothers and Sisters), Bryan Brown (Australia, Dirty Deeds, Along Came Polly), Maeve Dermody (Black Water), and introduces Sophie Lowe as Kate.

Beautiful Kate was developed with the assistance of the New South Wales Film & Television Office (NSWFTO) and is funded by the Film Finance Corporation, PMP Showtime, NSWFTO, the South Australian Film Corporation and New Town Films.
