WB's Suicide Squad is still well and truly top dog in its third week of release, ringing up an additional $3.1 million over the weekend to bring its overall takings to $27.7 million.
The David Ayer-directed supervillain extravaganza dropped less here (47 percent) than in the States, where it nosedived in its second week off the back of a critical drubbing.
Coming in at number two at the local BO was Roadshow's Bad Moms, dropping a mere 25 percent to pull in $2.4 million, bringing its cume to $7.6 million.
Also in its second week is Sony's adults-only toon Sausage Party, which dropped thirty percent to bring in $1.7 million over the weekend off 204 screens and has now made $5.2 million overall.
The best debut came from Jaume Collet-Serra's Queensland-shot The Shallows, starring Blake Lively as a surfer battling a hungry shark, which racked up $1.5 million off 214 screens, followed by War Dogs, starring Jonah Hill and Miles Teller, which premiered on 230 screens for takings of close to $1.4 million.
Next was Uni's Jason Bourne. The latest installment in the Matt Damon franchise has made around $18.3 million in four weeks and is still on 269 screens.
Fox's Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie is still on 285 screens after three weeks for a cume of over $7 million, while Uni's acclaimed Laika animation Kubo and The Two Strings, voiced by Charlize Theron and Matthew McConaughey, debuted on 228 screens and nabbed $674,658 in receipts.
Para's Star Trek Beyond is sitting on $9.2 million after five weeks, while Sony's Ghostbusters reboot has taken $12.1 million after six.
Madman's Hunt for the Wilderpeople is still on 79 screens after 13 weeks, dropping only 25 percent over the weekend to bring its overall tally to $10.8 million.
In 33rd spot is StudioCanal's Down Under, on 21 screens in its second week. Abe Forsythe's black comedy dropped 55 percent over the weekend, and is sitting on $82,906 overall.
