This year's festival will feature 31 feature films and 25 shorts.

SIPFest takes place in the outdoors on Surfers Paradise beach, screening 10-minute shorts by emerging filmmakers from around the country.
The 2016 Campus will take place during MIFF, July 28 to August 14.
They include Demolition, from Dallas Buyers Club director Jean-Marc Vallée, starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Naomi Watts; Maggie’s Plan, starring Ethan Hawke, Julianne Moore, Greta Gerwig and Vikings star Travis Fimmel; and Alexander Sokurov’s Francofoni
Running from May 19-28 May 2016, the festival will program four specialty programs unveiled before the full program launch later this month.
Putuparri and the Rainmakers, winner of the 2015 CinéfestOZ Film Prize, will have its international premiere at the Festival and will be shown as part of the Made In Australia program.
The Labor Government is contributing a $20,000 grant to the festival assigned to "organisations that use screen content to promote equality and diversity to Victorian audiences".
Schoettle has been the official representative for Australia since 2008, and will again be hosted by Screen Australia.
