Established in 2011 as the exhibition arm of Monster Pictures, Monster Fest runs November 24-27 at the Lido Cinemas in Melbourne, with support from Screen Australia.

Palace Cinemas has launched a new film festival to be run in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra after forming a partnership with Toronto-based Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival.
Guests include Nneka Onuorah, Claudia Lorenz, Kostja Ullmann, Marco Kreuzpaintner, Andrew Steggall, Chowee Leow and Andrew Martin.
Marc Smerling and Zac Stuart-Pontier are headed to ACMI for the Australian International Documentary Conference at the end of the month.

Shiny is a brief (less than four minutes) stop-motion animation Susser made with fellow Los Angeleno Daniel 'Cloud' Campos, a former dancer who toured with Madonna and is, according to Susser, "quite a well known B-boy".
Daniel Campos and Spencer Susser (Hesher) were the winners at Tropfest last night with stop-motion animation Shiny.
Mel Gibson will join Simon Baker, Rebecca Gibney, Don McAlpine and Jocelyn Moorhouse as a judge at this Sunday's Tropfest.
