Bouncing back from COVID-19 disruption, and in co-presentation with ACMI, the Melbourne International Film Festival (MIFF) returns to cinemas with two Australian highlights from its 2021 Music on Film program – Philippa Bateman’s Wash My Soul in the River’s Flow and a Special Preview of Danny Cohen’s Anonymous Club.
AWGIE Award recipients will be announced at the 54th Annual AWGIE Awards via an online ceremony broadcast on YouTube Tuesday, December 7. Awards will be presented across 19 individual categories, including feature film, television, documentary, theatre, audio, animation and children’s television. Individual category winners will be eligible for the Major Award, given to the most outstanding script of the year.
The 2021 AACTA Awards will be held at the iconic Sydney Opera House on Wednesday, December 8. The awards will honour Australian television, film, and digital entertainment performers and creatives for their remarkable achievements over the past year.
The Supporting Cinemas’ Retention Endurance and Enhancement of Neighbourhoods (SCREEN) Fund provides support to independent cinema operators who have experienced significant declines in revenue due to COVID-19 in the form of one-off grants, up to $85,000. The SCREEN Fund is a capped $20 million fund.
