Five trainees placed under FTO Digital Visual FX scheme

The FTO’S Digital Visual FX Scheme, which places talented digital artists in trainee jobs with some of NSW’s leading post production companies, has announced five successful applicants in the latest round.

Robert Baird, a concept/storyboard artist, has joined Rising Sun Pictures. Robert has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the National Art School combined with a Diploma of Screen in 3D Animation & Computer Graphics from digital media school Qantm College. He has exhibited his work in the Print Exchange Exhibition of Korea and Australia and received the 2006 Friends of National Art School Discipline Prize for printmaking.

Stanley Darmawan, a 3D artist & animator, has joined Frame Set & Match. Stanley has a Bachelor of Arts in Multimedia Design from Curtin University of Technology, Sydney. Has previous production experience in character animation for film and game animation.

Craig Rutherford, an animator, has been placed with Animal Logic. He has a Diploma of Screen and 3D Animation from Qantm College, a Certificate IV in Art and Design from KVB Institute of Technology, and also received traditional 2D animation training at Disneytoon Studios in Australia.

Liana Van Rensburg, a 3D artist, joins The Lab at Sydney. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Auckland, Elam School of Fine Arts. Liana worked part-time for Akira Isogawa in his Woollahra boutique while honing her digital skills and has had work exhibited at the Govett-Brewster Public Art Gallery and Canary Gallery, both in New Zealand.

Mark White joins Fin Design + Effects in the area of Research and Development. Mark has a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from University of Technology, Sydney, where he was awarded with Distinction and a University Medal. While he isn’t writing program code, one of his pastimes is developing his skills in circus performance.
