Celebrating its 24th year Flickerfest sets sail for Bali at Potato Head Beach Club on September 17.
Flickerfest, Australia’s leading Academy®Accredited and BAFTA Affiliated International Short Film Festival is thrilled to be returning to Potato Head Beach Club bringing its highly anticipated and award winning programme from the beaches of Bondi to the beaches of Bali for the 3rd time.
Screening over one full night, Flickerfest at Potato Head Beach Club in Seminyak, Bali will bring together the best of award winning short films the short film festival has to offer with an entertaining and inspiring program featuring some of the most innovative and creative short films being produced in the world today. Films start at 9pm.
Flickerfest began as a small local festival at the Balmain High School in 1991. Over the last 23 years it has grown to become Australia's leading competitive International Short Film Festival with thousands of entries received annually from filmmakers across the globe.
Recognised by Condé Nast Traveller as one of the best holiday destinations in the world, Potato Head Beach Club is acknowledged as a true institution in Bali and globally renowned. Welcoming more than 2000 guests daily it has become a ‘must do’ on any visitor to the island’s itinerary and will once again provide the perfect venue for Flickerfest.
Highlights of the Flickerfest Potato Head Beach Club Program are all hand-picked from award winners and audience favourites of the festival from the past two years and promise to delight and inspire audiences in a magical evening of the world’s best cinema under the stars.
Films screening include the delightful 2014 Oscar® Winner For Best Animation ‘Mr Hublot’ from Luxembourg, heart-warming Australian short films ‘We Keep On Dancing’ and ‘Tango Underpants’ the hilarious multi award winning German short ‘Centrifuge Brain Project’ and social media comedy ‘Friend Request Pending’ starring legendary actress Dame Judy Dench.
