Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment and Becker Film Group have struck a distribution agreement covering Australian and New Zealand for physical disc, electric sell-through and video on-demand.
From October 1, TCFHE will distribute Becker Film Group’s line-up of new releases, and manage the back catalogue library.
The Becker Family founded Australia’s first independent film and television distribution business in 1965.
The first release under the new agreement will be comedy, 5 Flights Up, starring Academy Award winners Morgan Freeman and Diane Keaton.
TCFHE will also handle the distribution of their back catalogue including notable Becker titles Margin Call, The Last Station and Diana.
TCFHE managing director, Flavio Paoli, said he was thrilled with the opportunity to represent Becker Film Group in the Australia and New Zealand markets.
"Becker Film Group is a leading independent film distribution company and through this partnership will deliver quality film product to complement the Fox product portfolio," he said.
"Becker Film Group has an established reputation and a passion for marketing and promotion that will support Fox’s distribution of the product.”
Becker Film Group managing director, Richard Becker, said it was an exciting new chapter for the company.
“Our brands share a long history and proud heritage, but more importantly we are both dedicated to bringing Australian and New Zealand audiences a dynamic slate," he said.
"It will be humbling working alongside one of the industries most distinguished studios. We feel the expertise and experience of both companies will ensure a long, prosperous collaboration in the home entertainment sector and we look forward to working together," he said.
