FremantleMedia Australia has acquired the format rights to I Can Do That!, a talent show which sees a group of eight celebrities challenged to perform show-stopping live acts each week to try to prove there's nothing they can't do.
Israeli-based Armoza Formats co-developed the show with China’s JiangSu Broadcasting Corporation. Viewers get to vote on who they judge to be the best performers.
The format has been sold to France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Sweden, and Norway in deals with content companies Endemol, Banijay and Shine.
Tim Clucas, Director of Programming FremantleMedia Australia, said: “Armoza have come up with a format that is close to perfect for the current Australian television market. We went to MIPCOM looking for an early evening format that could provide laughs, entertainment, and jeopardy in a glossy, pacey program that would bring the whole family back together in front of the one show. I Can Do That! delivers all of that and adds celebrities and charity fundraising as a bonus.”
No Australian broadcaster has commissioned the show as yet.
