HBO series Game of Thrones has taken home six Primetime Creative Arts Emmys, including Outstanding Art Direction and Outstanding Costumes for a Series.
The series also received awards for Outstanding Makeup for a Single Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic), Outstanding Special Visual Effects, Outstanding sound mixing for a Comedy or Drama Series and Outstanding Sound Editing for a Series at the Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony.
Discovery Channel’s Frozen Planet, PBS’ Great Expectations (Masterpiece) and NBC’s Saturday Night Live all tied with four awards each, in such categories as Outstanding Picture Editing for Nonfiction Programming (for Frozen Planet) and Outstanding Cinematography for a miniseries or Movie (for Great Expectations).
HBO was the leader of the channels, with a total of 17 awards beating CBS’s combined 13. PBS comes in third with 11.
The Creative Arts Emmys were created to honour the technical and creative side of TV production.
