The screen sector has urged the government to pass long-delayed legislation to increase the Location Offset as the ongoing lack of streaming content quota legislation begins to weigh down local production.
Screen Producers Australia (SPA) CEO Matthew Deaner said SPA backed raising the Location Offset to 30 per cent from 16.5 per cent (which will be backdated to July 1, 2023) and its new associated training obligations.
