Short Film Jerrycan was last night awarded an Honourable Mention at the Sundance Film Festival 09. Writer/director Julius Avery was on hand to accept the award in Park City, Utah. Jerrycan is one of 96 short films selected for Sundance from over 5500 submissions. The award marks the second time Jerrycan has received a special prize at a major film festival, the previous being the Jury Prize at the 59th Cannes Film Festival. In November 2008, Jerrycan won the AFI Award for Best Short Fiction Film.
