Madman is thrilled to announce that it will distribute the new Australian feature film Animal Kingdom in Australia and New Zealand. Writer-director David Michod has assembled a remarkable ensemble for his debut feature: Guy Pearce, Ben Mendelsohn, Joel Edgerton and Jackie Weaver.
Produced by Liz Watts, the crew is equally stellar with DOP Greig Fraser, editor Luke Doolan and Sound Designer Sam Petty all returning to work with Michod plus renowned Production Designer Jo Ford joining them.
Welcome to the jungle: the Melbourne Underworld…the world of Animal Kingdom. Tensions are building between dangerous criminals and equally dangerous triggerhappy police. It’s the Wild West, played out on the city’s streets, with ordinary lives caught in the crossfire.

A Porchlight Films production, Animal Kingdom is financed by Screen Australia, Film Victoria, the NSW Film and Television Office, and Showtime Australia.
Madman Entertainment in association with Jetty Distribution is distributing in Australia and New Zealand, with international sales handled by Maximum Films.
Animal Kingdom is due to commence shooting in Melbourne in early 2009.
