Screen Australia’s media and public affairs manager Annaliese Zuzarte has departed after 18 months with the agency.
She is returning to freelancing and will continue to consult with Screen Australia on projects.
Her role involved managing PR and corporate communications, which in her time has seen ebbs and flows in the box office share of Australian films and the agency adapting to two budget cuts.
Zuzarte is making the move to be closer to content and production. “I am looking forward to spearheading campaigns that focus on the power of the story and promoting the talent that brings it to life across screens so audiences can deeply connect to it," she says.
Previously she managed the PR for Tropfest and worked with entertainment PR agencies managing client portfolios that included Hoyts/Studiocanal, Madman, Movie Network Channels and Sydney Film Festival. Earlier she had marketing and communications roles at the ABC and SBS..
“We have had the benefit of Annaliese’s passion and specialist advice at Screen Australia that has been valued by the agency. Her professionalism and enthusiasm has been influential in supporting the work we do and communicating it to audiences,” said senior strategy and communications manager Georgie McClean.
