[press release from Metro Screen]
Have a rough cut of your film and not sure if the twist makes sense? Have a TV pilot that you’re sure is a winner, but you’re the only one who’s seen it? You laugh at every gag, but will your audience get the punch line?
The Metro Screen Network presents an opportunity to test screen your work before a film savvy audience before you lock off your edit or release your production to the world. We recognises the value for test viewing projects and also recognise that this is not always easy to organise, so we are doing it for you.
“Who are we making our films for, if not an audience?” states Network Coordinator, Michael Chrisoulakis. “A single piece of feedback could make a difference between a good film and great film.”
This is a genuine opportunity to gain constructive and critical feedback from your peers and those working or looking to work in the industry. Open to anyone who wants feedback on their project – rough cut, trailer, TV pilot, single scene, promo, music video, TVC. Any style and genre acceptable up to 20min running time.
“It’s easy to become too close to a project and loose perspective.” says Michael, “This is a great opportunity to screen your production before an audience and see what’s working and what’s not before it’s too far down the track.”
Arm yourself with questionnaires, drill the audience for feedback, or simply observe to see they are laughing in all the right places [and for the right reasons].
Even if you don’t have a project to test screen this is the perfect opportunity to discover and understand your fellow filmmaker’s processes and see what works, what doesn’t and most importantly why. So come along and join in the critical feedback discussions and gain insight that can be applied to your next project.
