The New South Wales Premier Nathan Rees has finalised his new cabinet and has announced that he will take on the Arts portfolio.
Virginia Judge is the Minister assisting in the Arts portfolio. Ms Judge also has responsibility for Citizenship and Fair Trading. Minister Ian McDonald remains the State Development Minister.
Rees was promoted to the top job on Friday after just 18 months in Parliament, following the NSW unprecedented sacking of incumbent Premier Morris Iemma.
Unlike Iemma, Rees has declared a personal interest in the Arts. He also graduated from university with honours in English literature in 1994.
