ScreenWest’s iArts goes on a roadshow

Western Australian digital media producers and artists interested in finding out more about the newly announced iArts initiative are invited to attend a Roadshow at the Art Gallery of Western Australia on June 10.

Jointly funded by the ABC, ScreenWest and the Department of Culture and the Arts, iArts is a digital interactive arts initative that will partner Western Australian digital media producers with artists, arts organisations, designers or musicians to create content for ABC television and online platforms.

Interested producers and artists have the opportunity to attend the Roadshow, run by representatives of ABC TV, the Department of Culture and the Arts and ScreenWest, to learn more about what the ABC are looking for and to meet other practitioners to collaborate with.

The Roadshow will consist of two sessions:  an information session to provide further details on this new initiative and a networking session providing artists, arts organisations and digital media producers with the opportunity to meet potential partners.

The information session will commence at 5pm, providing information about the initiative with panellists and a Q & A, followed by light refreshments.

Following this at 6:30pm, there will be a series of facilitated meetings between digital producers and artists. Functioning like an industry “speed-dating” night, where artists, musicians, designers, arts organisations or collectives can meet with digital media producers and discuss their respective practices with a view to developing partnerships. Any one interested in meeting potential partners for a project are urged to stay for this session.

Entry is free although RSVPs are essential and must be received by Friday June 6, 2008 to Mala Sujan at ScreenWest by email or on (08) 9224 7346. Please indicate which sessions you are interested in attending.
