Overview:
The Queensland College of Art (QCA) is one of Australia’s oldest and foremost – Film, Art, and Design Colleges. Incorporating the Griffith Film School, the QCA is a thriving community of filmmakers, animators, games designers, artists, designers, and photographers, and plays a significant role in shaping the state of Queensland and Australia’s creative culture. The College offers a rich selection of forward looking creative programs with a focus on effectively positioning its graduates and researchers as leading creative-thinkers and practitioners within a fast changing, globally connected landscape. As a key part of the QCA, the Griffith Film School (GFS) is Australia’s largest film school. The GFS operates in purpose-built premises set within Brisbane’s South Bank cultural precinct. Using world class, state of the art facilities and equipment, the School offers undergraduate, postgraduate and higher degree research (HDR) study in the disciplines of film-making, animation, and games design. The School brings together disciplines such as 2D and 3D animation and effects, film and television production, multimedia, digital game development and commercialisation.
This is a continuing, full time or part time (50%) position based at the South Bank campus
The Role:
The School has a position available in the following area of specialisation: Sound. Appointments may be made at Senior Lecturer and/or Lecturer level depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
The Person:
Appointee will contribute to and assist with the development of learning programs in one of these specialist discipline areas. They can expect to participate in developing, convening and teaching courses and/or programs both at undergraduate and postgraduate level in the School. They will also contribute to the scholarly development of the discipline as a researcher and postgraduate supervisor. A track record of critically informed practice-based research is essential. At Senior Lecturer level appointees are expected to provide mentoring and assistance to research colleagues and students. In this capacity they will offer assistance in achieving: high quality research publications and research quality practice-based outcomes; obtaining competitive grant funding; working closely with industry partners and contributing to the strategic development objectives of the QCA and GFS.
Salary Range:
Lecturer, Level B: $89,357 – $106,114 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $104,548 – $124,154 per annum.
Senior Lecturer, Level C: $109,462 – $126,220 per annum. Salary package including 17% employer superannuation contribution: $128,072 – $147,678 per annum.
