Former Sony Pictures Television and Sky Vision UK executive Kylie Munnich is joining Seven Studios in the newly created role of scripted sales and co-production executive.
Based in Sydney, her remit will include identifying co-production, gap funding and creative partnership opportunities for the group’s scripted and comedy slates.
In addition she will manage scripted tape and format sales and develop revenue growth initiatives. She starts in early November.
“Kylie is an accomplished media executive with more than 25 years of international experience in distribution, development and innovation at international studios and major independents and we are looking forward to her contribution as we move our creative and business opportunities forward,” said Therese Hegarty, Seven’s director of content distribution and rights.
For the past two years Munnich served as senior VP international distribution for the US-based Sonar Entertainment. Previously she was director, drama and comedy at Sky Vision UK and she held senior content distribution roles at Sony Pictures Television in Sydney and London and at MGM International Television.
In the 2018 financial year Seven Studios created and produced more than 1,000 hours of programming across all genres in Sydney, Los Angeles, Auckland and London. Its slate includes My Kitchen Rules, Border Security, House Rules and Home and Away, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.
The network will unveil its 2019 line-up at a ‘7AllFronts’ function in Sydney on Friday.
In 2017 Seven Studios acquired a majority stake in New Zealand’s Great Southern Television to add to its co-ventures 7Beyond (Los Angeles) and Slim Film & Television (London).
