SPA to honour Pam Barnes with Lifetime Achievement Award

Veteran TV producer Pam Barnes will be the recipient of this year’s Screen Producers Australia Lifetime Achievement Award.

With a career spanning some 50 years, Barnes has been behind shows such as In Melbourne Tonight, The Don Lane Show, Sale of the Century, Hey Hey It’s Saturday, The X Factor, Bert’s Family Feud, Dusty, and Australia’s Got Talent. She is currently the executive producer of FremantleMedia’s Family Feud on Network Ten.

“Pam’s illustrious career in television has seen her involved in some of Australia’s most beloved programs. Screen Producers Australia is honoured to name Pam as the Lifetime Achievement Award recipient to recognise her outstanding contribution to the Australian television industry,” said SPA CEO Matt Deaner.

Barnes will be presented with her prize next week at the SPA Awards in Melbourne, to be held on the close of the Screen Forever conference. 

SPA also announced today the five nominees for the Media Super Production Business of the Year, designed to recognise a company who has produced an outstanding project or body of work that has contributed to the advancement in the industry. Last year’s winner was CJZ.
