Screentime has announced the commissioning of the second series of the award-winning program Stuart MacGill Uncorked by XYZnetworks’ LifeStyle FOOD Channel, Australia’s only television channel totally dedicated to food.
Presented by Australian leg spinner and noted wine enthusiast Stuart MacGill, the new eight-part series, about everyday wine appreciation, will premiere on LifeStyle FOOD in December.
In this second series, to be shot in HD, Stuart explores eight prominent wine growing regions. Stuart will once again give his personal take on the current wine scene through a new generation of young winemakers, introducing the stars of wine regions such as Mudgee (NSW), Barossa Valley (SA), Werribee (VIC), Swan Valley (WA) and Granite Belt (QLD).
He tastes the classics and gets involved in the harvest in Coonawarra (SA) and jets off to New Zealand to give us a taste of the fabulous wines coming from Marlborough and Hawkes Bay.
“The response to the first series has been overwhelming, picking up an ASTRA Award, and Stuart was nominated for a most popular new talent Logie. Commissioning a second series of this fantastic show was an easy decision,” said Trevor Eastment, LifeStyle FOOD’s Head of Programming and Production.
Karen Willing, Screentime’s Head of Development, said: “Stuart MacGill has the ability to make a complicated subject seem simple and his wine lover, rather than expert, approach really struck a chord with our viewers. He is a very likable presenter and you enjoy spending time with him.
“Screentime is very excited to continue our relationship with Stuart MacGill and LifeStyle FOOD on Stuart MacGill Uncorked.”
