If there was an element of risk when Disney/Marvel Studios hired Kiwi director Taika Waititi to helm the 'Thor' reboot – a massive jump in scale and ambition after his 'Hunt for the Wilderpeople' – that now seems a very smart bet.
Waititi (Boy, What We Do in the Shadows) will appear in conversation at a screening of the film at Sydney's Chauvel Cinema on Monday May 23.
The promotion brings together independent cinemas in a coordinated promotional effort, allowing them to hold their own preview screenings with intros from director Waititi alongside the screening of exclusive, never-seen-before footage.
