The Australian-shot episode of Modern Family delivered unusually solid ratings for Network Ten on Sunday night.
The Logie Awards on Nine failed to crack 1 million in the five metros but beat the finale of Seven’s Downton Abbey and ABC1’s telemovie Parer’s War.
The night’s top show was Seven’s My Kitchen Rules, which hooked 1.9 million in the metros, 2.78 million nationally.
Modern Family Australia drew 1.05 million in the metros, the #2 program of the night in 25-to-54 and under 55s demographics, and 1.38 million nationally.
The 8pm episode of Modern Family attracted 645,000/838,000 and Angela Bishop’s behind the scenes edition, Modern Family: An Aussie Adventure, had 642,000/814,000.
The Logies red carpet arrivals show was watched by 974,000 viewers/1.33 million while the marathon awards averaged 962,000/1.28 million.
Downton Abbey pulled 917,000 in the metros/1.38 million nationally. Alister Grierson’s Parer’s War, which starred Matt Le Nevez as the legendary Australian WWII cameraman and Adelaide Clemens as the woman he loved, had 522,000 viewers in the metros.
