Australians in Film, Village Roadshow Entertainment Group and Animal Logic are pleased to announce that Dave Edwardz is the recipient of the first $20,000 AiF Entertainment Fellowship prize.
Commencing in early 2015, the prize will cover Dave's living and travel expenses for 3 months while he undertakes the internship that includes a hands-on experience to learn the business aspects of feature film development, acquisitions, packaging and production.
The 3-month fellowship is awarded to film business undergraduate students and recent graduates, who demonstrate significant potential in their area of expertise. The program includes working with Village Roadshow Pictures and Animal Logic executives, gaining hands-on experience in developing, acquiring, packaging and producing feature films.
'I'm thrilled and deeply humbled to be even considered for the inaugural Entertainment Fellowship. To be awarded the fellowship is a great honour. I believe that I will receive strong support on my professional journey, particularly in the business side of the industry. I know the Fellowship will help me take the next step in my career,' said Edwardz.
President of Australians In Film, Simonne Overend said, 'Dave was a stand out choice for the Fellowship. The calibre of his work and his single-minded approach to achieving his goals in filmmaking and film business tell us that there are exciting things coming from this Australian talent in the future.
The program was launched in 2014 as part of AIF's non-profit goal to serve as a bridge between the US and Australian film and television industry. Applications for the 2015 fellowship open mid next year.
