JVC today announced its new line of Everio camcorders with Everio S, Everio G and Everio HD models offering innovations in video sharing, dual storage memory models and HD camcorders no larger than their ultra-compact standard definition counterparts.
General Manager Marketing JVC Consumer Products Jim Parissis said, “We can sum up our new Everio range very simply by saying ‘Every Way You Can’. Everio has always been about No tapes, No discs, No turning back, and our new Everios deliver exciting new recording and sharing options that offer consumers real benefits like dual SD slots for longer and continuous recording, and innovations in video sharing with iTunes compatibility.”
Following JVC’s philosophy of consistently improving standards the Everio range again sets higher benchmarks in terms of quality, recording and detail. A new KONICA MINOLTA HD LENS, developed especially for Everio, now provides a high-performance ‘eye’ for the capture of Full HD resolution images, and also delivers an optical zoom ratio of 20x which is the highest ever for HD consumer camcorders.
Parissis added, “Having a powerful zoom is important when detail is important, and that is when you record in high definition.”
The new Everio range also offers the highest bit rate recording in HD at 24mbps and all HD Everios feature a 1/4.1-inch 3.05 megapixel CMOS image sensor. All HD models also offer Full HD recording – full 1920 x 1080 resolution and they maintain native 1920 x 1080 resolution through playback, enabling output of a 1080p 50fps progressive signal to make the most of high-end HD displays.
The new Everio line-up now includes hard disk drive (HDD) models, memory camcorders, and for the first time dual memory models, including standard definition (GZ-MS120) and high definition (GZ-HM200) dual SD memory card camcorders – the world’s first dual card slot models. There’s also a new standard definition model (GZ-MS130) that combines SD card recording with 16GB of internal flash memory.
Parissis commented, “The new dual SD slot memory models have a pair of SD/SDHC card slots, effectively doubling your memory capacity to offer continuous recording – during recording, when one card fills up, recording automatically switches to the other without the need to stop recording in order to change media.”
For sharing, all 2009 JVC Everios allow easy viewing of videos on an iPod® or iPhone® by exporting videos to the user’s iTunes® library with the new One Touch Export function provided by bundled software for Windows®. This joins the One Touch Upload function for uploading to YouTube™, a feature now available on all Everio camcorders, and One Touch DVD Creation function for easy archiving and sharing by disc, a long-time Everio feature.
“Consumers are now much more focused on ‘how’ they are going to use their camcorder, rather than which format to go for, which is why Everio has been designed to offer solutions to meet every need and value equation whether it’s travel, family or sharing.” added Parissis.”
All 2009 Everio camcorders are extremely compact, with the HD models for the first time the same size as standard definition Everios that use the same media. In addition, more models offer different colour options.
In addition to the dual SD card slot GZ-HM200, one of the smallest and lightest full HD camcorders available, the 2009 Everio range also includes two other new HD models the GZ-HD300, with 60GB hard drive, and the GZ-HD320, with 120GB hard drive, both offering HDD storage for extra-long recording times.
In standard definition, there are two new Everio G series models – the 60GB GZ-MG630, and the 120GB GZ-MG680.
