Third season of ‘Wanted’ starts SA shoot as Matchbox opens Adelaide office

The Dressmaker’s Jocelyn Moorhouse will make her first foray into television directing on the third season of Matchbox Pictures and R&R Productions’ Wanted.

Moorhouse will split directing duties with Peter Templeman on the Seven drama, which kicked off production today in South Australia – which will shoot across the state including Flinders Ranges and Adelaide Hills.

The news of the shoot coincides with Matchbox opening its SA office at Adelaide Studios, to be headed by Kirsty Stark, who will be responsible for driving the local development slate.

Both Matchbox and Screentime have opened offices in South Australia after a two-year funding allocation of $250,000 from the South Australian Film Corporation.

Stark has previously produced projects such as A Month of Sundays, Wastelander Panda, and Goober. She was the founder of Epic Films, which was named breakthrough business of the year by Screen Producers Australia in 2016.

“Having worked in SA for my entire career, I know the importance of creating opportunities for writers, directors and key creatives from within the state. I’m excited to partner with Matchbox and develop compelling local stories that will showcase our talent on a national and international stage,” said Stark.

The Wanted shoot is expected to create 250 jobs for South Australian cast and crew.

The third season sees the return of Rebecca Gibney and Geraldine Hakewill as Lola and Chelsea, who have now swapped prison for the witness protection program.

Gibney, who is also the show’s co-creator and EP, said: “I am so excited to be bringing Wanted back to Australia and filming in the glorious state of South Australia. Lola and Chelsea have become such a huge part of my life and I can’t wait to show the world where they end up next, because this time there’s no going back.”
