President and CEO of Canada’s Shaw Rocket Fund Agnes Augustin will speak about funding children’s content at Screen Producers Australia’s Screen Forever Conference.

The Shaw Rocket Fund has financed projects such as Holly Hobbie (Aircraft Pictures / Cloudco Entertainment), a live-action show commissioned by Hulu, Family Channel and Universal Kids, in addition to The Breadwinner (Aircraft Pictures), Emerald Code (Shaftesbury Entertainment) and The Next Step (Boat Rocker Media).

Augustin, who has also held roles at Country Music Television and Telefilm Canada, will speak at the Australian Children’s Television sponsored session “Funding the Future – The Opportunity Cost of Kids Content” and will be available to meet with conference delegates at SPA Connect.

“Agnes’ dedication to increasing the profile of her local children’s and youth media industry is poignant given the #savekidstv campaign happening in Australia right now,” SPA CEO Matthew Deaner said.

“We know children are savvy media users looking for content specifically tailored for them, and we look forward to hearing Agnes’ expertise at Screen Forever on how to build local content for children now and into the future.”
