Press Release
Bankstown will roll out the red carpet this Friday for the
second edition of the world’s largest festival of Lebanese Film.
Set to take place at the Bankstown Arts Centre, the Bank of Sydney Lebanese Film
Festival (LFF) opening night launch will be hosted young Australian Lebanese model
and TV personality, Nick Bracks.
The event will also be attended by Australian Legendary actor and former
Bankstown boy, Bryan Brown who is also mentor to the LFF team.
LFF Director, Mr Camille Lattouf says, “We are proud to say we have become the
world’s largest festival of Lebanese film and to be building understanding between
the Australian community and the arts and cultural scene of Lebanon.”
The LFF is committed to changing the negative perceptions of the Lebanese culture
and contributing to Bankstown’s role as an arts and cultural hub of Sydney with
Bankstown City Council being a major sponsor of the event.
“In bringing such an event to Bankstown, we hope we can challenge the perception
Bankstown has nothing to offer. It is a thriving and cosmopolitan centre that
deserves more attention and the Bank of Sydney Lebanese Film Festival is one way
of doing this.”
A total of 36 films will be screened in Hoyts Cinemas in Bankstown and the
Entertainment Quarter (Fox Studios) from Friday 23 August until Sunday 8
September.
