Huzzah Sound, the leading Australian film and television sound post production company, will continue under the leadership of William Ward and Adrienne Parr.
William has been with Huzzah for the past 11 years and will take over management of the business following the recent passing of Huzzah Sound’s founder, Andrew Plain. William will work closely with Adrienne, who has been running Huzzah in partnership with Andrew since it's inception.
“Adrienne and I will maintain Andrew’s legacy, his philosophy and love of storytelling by ensuring Huzzah continues to prosper. This is something Andrew very much wanted us to do,” William said.
During Andrew’s illness, William maintained Huzzah Sound’s busy post production slate with the company completing six feature films (“Felony”, “Paranoia”, “Son of a Gun”, “I, Frankenstein”, “The Railway Man” and “Tracks”) and a television series (“Old School”) in the past year.
Huzzah Sound will continue to be based at Spectrum Films, working closely with their new General Manager, Adam Scott. “Our strategic partnership with Spectrum, Australia’s premiere editing facility, enables us to create a superior workflow between picture and sound,” William says.
William has been working as a sound editor, designer and supervisor for more than 15 years, with dozens of film and television credits to his name. His many awards include the Australian Film Institute's Award for Best Sound for "Unfinished Sky" in 2008. He was part of the Huzzah Sound team that won the AFI Award in 2010 for "Tomorrow When the War Began" and the AACTA Award for “The Sapphires” as well as being involved in the films which have won the Australian Screen Sound Guild's “Soundtrack of the Year” Award in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2013.
