Dimitrios Pouliotis selected as director’s attachment on A Month of Sundays

PRESS RELEASE

The Australian Directors Guild (ADG) and Screen Australia today announced director Dimitrios Pouliotis as the final attachment for 2014, as part of the Director’s Attachment Scheme. The industry incentive program is funded by Screen Australia and managed by the ADG for emerging feature film directors to develop their craft. Dimitrios will be attached to Matthew Saville on his upcoming feature film A Month of Sundays, a Madman production, which will commence filming in January in Adelaide.

Dimitrios Pouliotis said, “I’m absolutely thrilled and honoured to be attached to Matt. This is a fantastic opportunity with an experienced director of great sensibility and attention to detail to absorb and learn from.”

Dimitrios has directed a number of short films including A Moment of Grace and Unfinished Thoughts for which he was nominated for an ADG Best Direction of a Short Film Award. He is currently developing his first feature through the South Australian Film Corporation’s D-Lab.

Screen Australia’s Creative Director, Veronica Gleeson, said, “The importance of these attachments can’t be overstated. We’re very happy to continue supporting artists of the future in practical ways and wish Dimitrios an enriching, educative time with Matthew Saville.”

The Director’s Attachment Scheme provides opportunities to promising directors, earlier this year we announced Ariel Martin’s attachment to Neil Armfield on his feature Holding the Man. In 2013, there were three attachments, Grant Sputore was attached to Kriv Stenders on Kill Me Three Times, Stephen McCallum was attached to Tony Ayres on Cut Snake and Matthew Moore on the Robert Connolly–directed film Paper Planes.

The first Director’s Attachment Scheme was launched for TV drama last month with the attachment on the Playmaker Media production of House Husbands series 4 in 2015.
