Toronto International Film Festival selector to visit Oz

Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) selector Jane Schoettle will visit Australia next month. Hosted by Screen Australia, she will view new feature films for recommendation into the 2015 festival.

“The energy, diversity and depth of Australian film and filmmakers is always compelling and fascinating, and my annual visit is one of the highlights of my year. TIFF audiences love to see the latest films from a country with which they feel a special kinship,” said Jane, who has been programming for TIFF since 2002 and visiting Australia for TIFF since 2008.

She is responsible for the territories of Australia, New Zealand, Israel, Germany and US independent.

TIFF is one of the world’s leading international film festivals. It provides a launch pad for both Hollywood films and independent productions and is an important meeting place for the film industry to buy and sell new titles. In 2014, more than 5,000 industry delegates attended from 80 countries with more than 300 films screening in the festival.
