In this five day filmmaking intensive, you'll get busy in the AFTRS state-of-the-art studio to take a class selected short film script to screen. Experienced industry filmmakers will guide you with lectures and fast paced practical exercises to conquer the major areas of directing, cinematography, and post production.

Learning the means to unravel the role of emotion in creating stories that are compelling is, for writers, the difference between success and failure. There will always be a "buyer" for a good story if you know what that story is, why it connects with audience and how best to tell it. This course will explore and explain the foundations of narrative and the critical relationship between character and structure for both film and television.

This ten day Intensive course (delivered over two consecutive weeks Mon – Fri) will combine technical training in the use of Avid Media Composer, the non-linear film/video editing application used extensively in most television productions, with an introduction to the creative art of editing for television and practical, hands-on exercises. Students will have the opportunity to get Avid User Certification within this course.
