AFC?s IndiVision Project Lab 2008 announces local advisors and guest speakers

The Australian Film Commission (AFC) have announced the award-winning local advisors and guest speakers who will join the international guests for the AFC’s IndiVision Project Lab 2008.

Producers Julie Ryan (Ten Canoes), Vincent Sheehan (Little Fish), Al Clark (The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert) and Robert Connolly (Romulus, My Father), actor Claudia Karvan (Love My Way), performance consultant Lindy Davies (Away From Her) and concept artist Tam Morris (Buffalo Soldiers) have been confirmed as advisors at the 2008 IndiVision Lab.

Confirmed as guest speakers at the Lab are actor Rachel Griffiths (Six Feet Under), producer Michael Robertson (Black Water), co-director and producer Andrew Traucki (Black Water), co-director and visual effects specialist David Nerlich (Black Water), casting director Anousha Zarkesh, CEO of RGM Annabelle Sheehan, and Director of Zealot Helen Campbell.

These local advisors and guest speakers will join internationally acclaimed US producer Christine Vachon (Far From Heaven), London-based screenwriter Laurence Coriat (A Mighty Heart), and Danish development executive Vince Wiedemann at the fourth annual IndiVision Project Lab which runs 31 January to 6 February 2008.

The AFC’s IndiVision Project Lab is a high-level professional hothouse, specifically tailored for Australian filmmaking teams developing low-budget feature films. The AFC will announce the selected participants at a media launch on 30 January 2008.

Chris Fitchett, Chief Executive of the AFC, said, ‘The participation of local and international advisors and guest speakers of this calibre will make the IndiVision Project Lab an amazing experience for the teams selected in 2008. By sharing their extraordinary depth of experience and passion for low-budget filmmaking, the advisors and guest speakers will inspire the participants to produce distinct and groundbreaking cinema.’

The Project Lab is part of a suite of programs offered by the AFC as part of the IndiVision initiative. Other programs include the IndiVision Production Fund, the IndiVision Script Development program and IndiVision Marketing.
