Aussie comedy short selected for Palm Springs

Fresh from her recent deal with Sony Pictures to produce her Barney the Terrier comedy series for mobile, writer/director/producer Anny Slater’s new comedy Masterpeer Theatre has been selected to screen at the Academy Award qualifying Palm Springs International short film festival and the AMPAS sponsored Fort Lauderdale Film Festival.

Masterpeer Theatre is the canine version of the popular U.S. programme Masterpiece Theatre. Its host, Shorthaired Pointer introduces the classic theatre for dogs.

Masterpeer Theatre is voiced by Sydney comedian Simon Kennedy with sound by AFI winning sound designer Andrew Plain.

Anny has a previous association with Fort Lauderdale Film Festival. Last year she was commissioned to make a TvC for the Festival. The TvC screened in the U.S. on free to air and Comcast.
