Caroline Pitcher appointed as new Ausfilm CEO

Ausfilm has announced that Caroline Pitcher has been appointed as its new Chief Executive Officer. Pitcher is currently the General Manager of Film Victoria’s Melbourne Film Office, a position she has held for the past four years. Like Ausfilm, the Melbourne Film Office seeks to attract major film and television projects to Australia and, during Pitcher’s period as General Manager, projects including Where the Wild Things Are, Nightmares and Dreamscapes, Charlotte’s Web and Ghost Rider have all been produced in Victoria, and The Pacific has commenced production.

Prior to her role with the Melbourne Film Office, Pitcher held a number of public and private sector marketing and communications positions, including with Melbourne Parks and Waterways, Parks Victoria, The Royal Botanic Gardens and The Turtle Island Group.

In her role as General Manager of the Melbourne Film Office, Pitcher has also been a board member of Ausfilm. She replaces Mark Woods whose term as CEO concluded last week.

Australia’s Federal content attraction organisation, Ausfilm is a Government-industry partnership comprising all of Australia’s State and Territory Screen Agencies, some 40 private sector screen production service companies and Australia’s Federal Government through the Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts (DCITA). Ausfilm markets Australia’s incentives, locations and capabilities in production and Post/Digital/VFX (PDV) to attract international content to produce and/or conduct PDV in Australia. The organisation has offices in Sydney and Los Angeles.
