Catherine Armstrong to lead post-production at Spectrum Films

Spectrum Films has appointed Catherine Armstrong as post producer to work alongside general manager, Adam Scott.

Armstrong, whose credits include Please Like Me, Tanna, Dance Academy, Underbelly and Paper giants: Magzine Wars, had previously worked at SoundFirm for almost two years as post producer.

The appointment comes as the Specturm relocates to its new headquarters on the second floor of the Frank Hurley Building at Fox Studios, which overlooks Hans Pomeranz Stage 8 – named in honour of Spectrum's founder.

It's the second time Spectrum, which was established in 1964 by Pomeranz, has shifted its operations.

Spectrum moved from Willoughby to building 53 on the Fox lot when it opened in 1998.

Scott said Armstrong, who has worked across feature films and television, was experienced at managing and supervising post-production workflows, budgets and tight turn-arounds.

"Catherine's post-production background complemented by her technical understanding, will provide an invaluable addition to the Spectrum Films family,” he said.

The new Spectrum facility has editorial suites, 5.1 surround sound mix theatre and DI colour grading finishing.

The new facility has multiple productions booked in for 2016.

Recent and ongoing projects at Spectrum Films include broadcast productions Peter Allen: Not the Boy Next Door, Brock, Hitting Home, Cleverman and feature productions Gods of Egypt, Hacksaw Ridge, Lion and Joe Cinque’s Consolation
