Australian produced horror-comedy, I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer, had its world premiere at the Film4 Frightfest last week in London’s West End.
The cricket-based slasher pic was one of several films showcased in the UK’s annual horror themed festival, which has been dubbed the ‘Woodstock of Horror’. The festival is in its ninth year and notable past attendees include directors George A. Romero, Rob Zombie, Danny Boyle and Guillermo Del Toro.
I Know How Many Runs You Scored Last Summer tells the story of a moustachioed killer, hunting down the members of a cricket team that humiliated him years earlier.
Directors Stacey Edmonds and Doug Turner began shooting the film as a part time project in late 2005. Almost three years later their work was invited, by Frightfest, to premiere on the opening night of the festival.
“We’d heard the Frightfest crows were a vocal audience, but they laughed and jumped in all the right places. We couldn’t be happier with the success of the screening,” Edmonds told INSIDEFILM.
The filmmakers hope the film will be released locally in June 2009.
