Croc Hunter’s daughter wins Daytime Emmy

Bindi Irwin has won a Daytime Emmy award for Outstanding Performer In A Children’s Series for her show Bindi: The Jungle Girl. The award was presented at the 35th Annual Creative Arts & Entertainment Daytime Emmy Awards in New York City on Friday June 13.

Bindi: The Jungle Girl – a series about wildlife conservation, continues Bindi’s late father, "Crocodile Hunter" Steve Irwin’s legacy of educating the young and old about the wonders of the natural world.

The series debut last year on June 9 on American networks Discovery Kids and simulcast on Animal Planet and in Australia on July 18, 2007. It was also aired on ABC TV.

Bindi also won a Logie for Most Popular New Female Talent this year.

Bindi: The Jungle Girl is produced by Australian company Best Picture Show by producers John Stainton and Justin Lyons, and executive producer Judi Bailey.
